A SpaceX rocket has launched the SNAPPY neutrino detector into orbit, making it the first of its kind in space. This endeavor, which is a component of the CAS500-2 mission, is anticipated to be a significant advancement in fundamental astrophysics because such experiments were previously limited to Earth. The universe’s most mysterious particles are thought to be neutrinos. They go between planets and stars undetected and hardly engage with substance. The SNAPPY project is being carried out in cooperation with NASA research centers and is based on Kongsberg NanoAvionics’ tiny CubeSat platform.

As part of the mission, two additional significant devices were launched. While the Eycore-1 radar allows high-resolution imaging of the Earth’s surface regardless of weather, the QUBE II satellite will test quantum key distribution technologies.

Kongsberg NanoAvionics has successfully launched more than 60 satellites, solidifying its position as a leader in the space sector. A new era in neutrino astronomy will be ushered in if the SNAPPY experiment is successful and allows scientists to directly see events at the Sun’s core.
