OSCILLATION OF THE ANTINEUTRINO
KamLAND, or Kamioka Liquid-Scintillator Anti-Neutrino Detector, was a 1,000-ton subterranean detector in Japan. The collaboration demonstrated the disappearance of electron antineutrinos from a nuclear reactor in 2003. Evidence of electron antineutrino reappearance, a hint of antineutrino oscillation, was announced by the collaboration in 2004.
